It was very dark. I could see the stars, clouds and the outline of this rock, but not much else. This is the first night picture I had taken with the 40D and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the results of a 30 second exposure at 1600 ISO
This is the same exposure as the one above. The yellow at the base of the snow right on the water is from a street light a few hundred feet away.
