Salt Lake City County Building

It was harder than I thought to make this photo look old, I am still not sure if I succeeded.
I bought a book called Salt Lake City Then and Now (a good book if you live in SLC) and decided to go downtown one day and see if I could get some shots of some of the buildings that are old, then turn them into photos that looked old. Since that time I have been busy and haven't had a lot of time to work on any pix. So I will post them sooner or later.

Yes, I did plant this flower on the big leaf (no pun intended). This garden was outside on the north east side of the City County building.

These two leafs are some of my favorite photos that I have taken. It's always the simple things that I think are the most beautiful. But then I look at how complex the vein system is and I start thinking that this is not so simple. The sun was shining right through this or else it would look just like the one above. There were several others like this with the sun shining through it, but I liked the one with the rip in it. The leaf is about 2 feet long.

It's funny that I have always admired this building; in fact I always tell people that my Great Grandfather helped install the windows when it was built, but my entire life I have never been inside 'till a few weeks ago. I was expecting the inside to be open and spacious, but it looked fairly normal. I walked around a bit, but this is the only shot that I took.

  1. I like the unique angle the bottom shot was taken with. Very nice.
