This is an HDR. It was fairly difficult to get this grasshopper to cooperate and stay still long enough to take three pictures.Still, watching it jump was cool. It is amazing to think of the kind of forces it must endure to jump so high in the air and then to land without getting hurt. This one was pretty big, about 3 inches long. I couldn't see while I was taking pictures, but macroed in the markings on it's face become visible.
You can see how much of the flower this caterpillar has already eaten.
